Macron’s comment, cited earlier in this thread, stating that “…any lasting peace in Ukraine must be accompanied by unwavering security guarantees.” is a blatant attempt to assure the ultimate responsibility for deterring another Russian incursion rests rests predominantly with the USA.
However, PDJT has carefully articulated that he is opposed to a guarantee that invokes a NATO Article 5 attack response on Ukraine’s behalf should Russia violate the peace, per the article linked below.
